Study of the decay B → ω KS0 at Belle — •Veronika Chobanova — MPI Munich Germany

The study of CP Violation in the decays of the B meson is important for constraining the CKM unitarity triangle in the Standard Model (SM). Second order bs loop ("penguin") decays such as B0→ω KS0 are sensitive to CKM angle φ1 and provide a consitency check for the CP violation found in first order weak bc c s transitions (e.g. B0J/ψ/KS0). Considering corrections from other SM contributions, CP violation in bs modes are predicted to be larger than that found in bc, however the experimental tendency is for the measurements to be smaller. We present an updated measurement of the branching fraction of the decay B0→ω KS0 using a new approach. We plan to update the measurement of CP asymmetries in B0→ω KS0 with the final Belle data set which will enhance our understanding of CP violation in penguin dominated decays. We demonstrate that the method used by us provides a smaller statistical uncertainty than the previous Belle analysis.
