Prospects for ATLAS SUSY analysis with jets and missing E_T for 2012 — •Valerio Consorti — Albert-Ludwigs-Universitaet Freiburg

A new analysis designed to explore events with high jet multiplicity has been developed as extension of the ATLAS SUSY analysis presented at EPS conference. This study shows that extending the current analysis up to 5 and 6 jets + missing E_T final states, it is possible to increase the SM background rejection without loosing signal acceptance for many SUSY models. A set of discriminating variables has been identified in order to distinguish the signal from the background. A dedicated studies about the background composition has been done for each channel and a strategy for the reduction of the QCD background has been developed.
