The LHeC (Large Hadron Electron Collider) Ring-Ring collider is designed for electron and positron beam energies of 50-70 GeV and a luminosity in excess of 1033 cm−2 s−1. The current design foresees a 10 GeV recirculating linac as injector and the installation of the main electron ring on top of the existing LHC proton magnets. For the main electron ring an optics has been created which copes with the constraints imposed from the integration of the electron machine in the existing LHC tunnel. The constraints from integration and the small injection energy further require especially slim main arc dipole magnets with a reliable field reproducibility. The main e-ring lattice is matched to a compact IR (Interaction Region), which foresees special final focus quadrupoles providing sufficient separation and focusing for both proton and electron beam. In order to ensure simultaneous pp and ep operation, the lattice also includes bypasses with separate tunnels around the then existing pp LHC experiments. These bypasses are in addition used to house the full RF of the LHeC.
