Studies for the array trigger in CTA — •Joachim Hahn, German Hermann, and Konrad Bernlöhr — Max-Planck-Institut für Kernphysik, Heidelberg, Deutschland

The Cherenkov Telescope Array (CTA), the next generation ground-based gamma-ray observatory, will consist of over 50 imaging atmospheric Cherenkov telescopes of different sizes, covering an area of several square kilometers. The development of a new inter-telescope trigger scheme is necessary to optimally utilize the potential of such an array. To that end, information available on the trigger level, like topology and time differences of triggered telescopes, can be included in the system trigger decision. Monte Carlo studies on this topic will be presented.
