HEPTopTagger optimisation studies in the context of a tt fully-hadronic resonance search — •David Sosa, Christoph Anders, Gregor Kasieczka, André Schöning, and Sebastian Schätzel — Physikalischens Institut, Heidelberg, Germany

The HEPTopTagger algorithm identifies boosted, hadronically decaying top quarks. It has been already validated using 2011 data taken with the ATLAS detector.

The performance of the HEPTopTagger can be optimised by tuning internal parameters of the algorithm to improve the signal efficiency and the background rejection.

Using the HEPTopTagger, a fully-hadronic resonance search has been conducted with the ATLAS detector with 2011 data. In order to improve the mass reach of the search the full 2012 data set can be used. The HepTopTagger is tested and re-optimized as the running conditions have changed. This optimisation of the HEPTopTagger on the context of a a fully-hadronic resonance search is presented.
