Searches for SUSY in final states with photons at CMS — •Valentina Sola1, Christian Autermann2, Ulla Gebbert1, Johannes Haller1, Malte Hoffmann1, Maximilian Kiesel2, and Peter Schleper11University of Hamburg — 2RWTH Aachen University

The new energy frontiers reached at the LHC allow searches for physics beyond the Standard Model in unexplored domains of the phase space. The theory of Supersymmetry (SUSY) has been deeply investigated with data from pp collisions at √s = 7 TeV and √s = 8 TeV collected by the CMS experiment.

Events with isolated photons, jets and missing transverse energy provide a clean tool in the search for some SUSY models, since photons can be identified with relatively high efficiency and purity using the CMS detector. Moreover, demanding the presence of missing transverse energy, predicted by SUSY scenarios, largely suppresses the Standard Model backgrounds.

The results of this search can be interpreted in the context of Gauge Mediated SUSY Breaking (GMSB) scenarios, where the gravitino is the lightest SUSY particle and either bino and wino-like neutralino is the next-to-lightest SUSY particle.
