The VISPA Internet Platform: a Development Environment for Physics Analyses — •Martin Urban, Martin Erdmann, Robert Fischer, Christian Glaser, Dennis Klingebiel, Matthias Komm, Gero Müller, Marcel Rieger, Jan Steggemann, and Tobias Winchen — Physikalisches Institut 3A, RWTH Aachen University

The Visual Physics Analysis (VISPA) project provides a graphical development environment for physics analyses as an internet platform. The typical cycle of (re-) designing, executing and verifying an analysis is accessible through a common web browser. The usual requirement of installing common and experiment specific software on a local computer is not needed. All installations and the required computing power reside in a server system. This enables scientists to not only work time- and location independently but also with a variety of devices including touch screens like tablet computers or smartphones. The VISPA platform encourages and simplifies collaborative work by the functionality of sharing analyses. In this contribution we present the technical details and the versatility of this server-client-based concept.
