Time-synchronization in the HiSCORE experiment: MC-studies and results from a WhiteRabbit installation. — •Andrea Porelli1,2 and Ralf Wischnewski11DESY, Platanenallee 6, D-15738 Zeuthen, Germany — 2Institut für Physik, Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin, Newtonstr. 15, D-12489 Berlin, Germany

The Hundred Square Cosmic ORigin Explorer (HiSCORE) detector is dedicated to the observation of gamma-rays at energies above 10 TeV and cosmic rays above 100 TeV. For gamma-ray sources at energies >>10TeV, it complements the planned CTA detector.

We present MC-simulations for the necessary precision of inter-station time synchronization. We show, that the new WhiteRabbit synchronisation technology, recently installed in the HiSCORE prototype stations for long-term tests, gives excellent sub-nsec performance. In addition, ideas for alternative trigger- and station-layout will be discussed.
