Titel: How much can Alice tell Charlie about Bob? — •Alexander Streltsov1 and Wojciech H. Zurek21Institut für Theoretische Physik III, Heinrich-Heine-Universität Düsseldorf — 2Los Alamos

We consider the situation where two parties, Alice and Bob, share a joint quantum state. The aim of Alice is to transmit her state to a recipient Charlie while preserving the coherence with Bob. If Alice and Charlie are limited to use only local operations and classical communication (LOCC), intuition suggests that perfect transmission is possible whenever the state between Alice and Bob is separable. Here we show that this is not the case: there are separable states which do not allow for a perfect transmission via LOCC. We also generalize the problem to an arbitrary number of recipients and show that quantum discord arises as a natural figure of merit in this protocol.
