Recent developments in the field of the spin caloritronics have triggered many questions about the origin and character of the observed phenomena (e.g., spin-dependent Seebeck versus spin Seebeck effect [1]). To contribute to the understanding of the underlying mechanisms at the microscopic level, we investigate spin-dependent electron transport through various magnetic nanostructures between non-magnetic leads as a function of the temperature. The electronic structure of the studied systems is calculated within the multiple scattering screened Korringa-Kohn-Rostoker (KKR) Green function framework [2]. The Monte-Carlo methodology is then used to simulate the effect of temperature on the magnetic configurations with the exchange coupling parameters calculated according to [3]. Finally, the Landauer-Büttiker approach for the ballistic transport within the KKR framework [4] is extended to account for the non-collinear magnetic effects.
