In CeCoIn5, a route towards reduced dimensionality is provided by an elongation of the unit cell along the c-axis. To determine the related strain dependences of Tc and Bc2, we measured thermal expansion and magnetostriction of CeCoIn5 single crystals. The dependence of the strong-coupling parameter was estimated by the ratio between specific heat discontinuity at Tc and Sommerfeld coefficient. Our results show that Bc2 grows with increasing c-axis lattice parameter due to an increase of the strong coupling nature of the superconductivity. This is in agreement with a recent study on artificial superlattices of alternating superconducting CeCoIn5 and metallic YbCoIn5 layers in which reducing dimensionality increases the ratio Bc2/Tc [1].
