We employ the combination of the density functional theory and the dynamical mean-field theory to investigate the electronic correlations in heavy transition metal compounds with partially filled t2g levels such as d4 osmates which were prepared recently. Using the hybridization-expansion, continuous-time quantum Monte Carlo impurity solver we study the combined influence of electron correlations and spin-orbit coupling effects on the the electronic and magnetic structure of these systems.
