Absolute VUV and UV measurements in a low pressure DICP in different gas mixtures for biological applications — •Marcel Fiebrandt, Nikita Bibinov, Benjamin Denis, Katharina Stapelmann, and Peter Awakowicz — Ruhr University Bochum, Institute for Electrical Engineering and Plasma Technology, Bochum, 44801, Germany

VUV and UV spectra are measured in the range of 130 nm to 400 nm in different argon, hydrogen, nitrogen, and oxygen mixtures in a double inductively coupled plasma reactor (DICP) at 10 Pa. Measurements are performed with a monochromator in the VUV and a broadband echelle spectrometer in the UV. The relative VUV spectra are fitted to the absolutely calibrated spectra in the UV. Thereby, it is possible to obtain absolutely calibrated VUV spectra, thus enabling to determine quantitatively the VUV and UV dose applied to biological samples. Combined with biological experiments, the effectiveness of the VUV dose depending of the wavelength can be studied.
