Nitrogen-Vacancy centers (NV-centers) in diamond provide bright and stable single-photon emission without photo bleaching in cryogenic as well as ambient environments.

To achieve directional emission, good quantum efficiency and significant Purcell enhancement, we investigate a design where NV-centers in nanodiamonds are coupled to a nanoscale gap between two silver mirrors. In this way, a cavity mode with a mode volume below 0.1(λ/n)3 can be achieved, and large Purcell enhancement (C >> 10) is expected. We report on the current status of the experiment.
