Searches with boosted top at 13 TeV with CMSIvan Marchesini, Alexander Schmidt, and •Emanuele Usai — Universität Hamburg

We present sensitivity studies for searches of physics beyond the standard model with high-pT top quarks in the final state with the CMS experiment. Monte Carlo samples with full-detector simulation at 13 TeV are used. The focus of these studies will be on searches for tt resonances in the all-hadronic final state.

In this kind of searches the decay products of the top quarks cannot be reconstructed as separate jets. Top tagging algorithms are then used to reconstruct the top decay.

Jet substructure tools, in addition to b-tagging in boosted topologies, are employed to reduce the QCD multijet background and improve the sensitivity of the analysis.

An overview of new ideas and tools, and a summary of the main results at 8 TeV will be given as well.
