Towards direction dependent fluxes with AMS-02 — •Stefan Zeissler, Karen Andeen, Wim de Boer, Iris Gebauer, Carmen Merx, Nikolay Nikonov, and Valerio Vagelli — KIT Karlsruher Institut für Technologie

The Alpha Magnetic Spectrometer (AMS-02) is a state-of-the-art particle physics detector designed to operate as an external module on the International Space Station (ISS). In the unique space environment cosmic particles can be measured with high precision over an energy range from GeV up to TeV. In 2014 electron and positron flux measurements where published which indicate an additional source of positrons among the various cosmic particles. The arrival directions of energetic positrons and electrons convey fundamental information on their origin.

We evaluate the AMS-02 detector acceptance for each incoming particle direction and show preliminary results of a direction dependent measurement of the AMS-02 lepton flux.
