Electron Transparency of Meshes for Micromegas Detectors — •Philipp Lösel1, Otmar Biebel1, Jonathan Bortfeldt1, Ralf Hertenberger1, Samuel Moll1, Fabian Kuger2, and Andre Zibell21LMU München — 2Universität Würzburg

MICRO MEsh GAseous Structure (MICROMEGAS) detectors have a planar structure consisting of cathode, anode and mesh. The mesh separates the 5 mm dirft and the 0.128 mm amplification region of the detector. A high electron transparency of the mesh is needed for optimal electron transport between both regions and thus good spatial resolution. To optimize the mesh, the electical field lines for different geometries under various voltages were simulated with ELMER and the electron transport with GARFIELD. The results of these simulations will be compared with measurement results.
