Transition metal diborides exhibit a variety of ground states including BCS superconductivity and complex forms of magnetic order. For a detailed understanding of the magnetic and electronic properties a comprehensive picture of the Fermi surface (FS) is a prerequsite. For the itinerant antiferromagnet chromium diboride (CrB2), e.g., the intricate interplay between FS properties and the complicated magnetic order is not yet fully understood [1]. We employ torque magnetometry at low temperatures down to 0.3 K and in high magnetic fields up to 35 T to measure the quantum oscillations of the magnetization, i.e., the de Haas-van Alphen (dHvA) effect. Combined with density functional theory (DFT) calculations, the dHvA effect is a powerful tool that allows determination of the FS properties. We present recent results on CrB2 and further isostructural diborides.
