Searches for Lepton number violation with neutrinoless double beta decay — •Bernhard Schwingenheuer — Max-Planck-Insitut Kernphysik, Heidelberg

Lepton number violation is likely the key to understand the origin of the baryon asymmetry of the universe. Depending on the physics beyond the Standard Model neutrinoless double beta decay is the prime channel to see this violation. The talk reviews the motivation, the current experiments and some future proposals with emphasis on those using Ge-76.
