The parity violation in the weak interaction leads to a non-vanishing polarisation of tau leptons in the decay of Z bosons. The measurement of the polarisation provides a handle to access fundamental parameters of the Standard Model, such as the weak mixing angle sin2 θeff. The polarisation of a tau leptons is inferred from angular distributions of their decay products. Basic tools for accessing the tau polarisation developed for this analysis can then also be applied in the study of the CP quantum number in Higgs boson decays into pairs of tau leptons. This presentation gives an overview of the analysis techniques in the main hadronic tau decay modes and provides a sensitivity estimation for measurements of the neutral current couplings of the tau lepton and the weak mixing angle.
