Research-based Learning with Digital Elements - A Project Laboratory — •Züleyha Yenice Campbell1, Franz-Josef Schmitt2, and Christian Schröder11Technische Universität Berlin — 2Martin-Luther-Universität Halle-Wittenberg

Research-based learning and project-based learning motivate students to identify with different subjects. The broad spectrum of laboratory courses offered in the MINTgruen orientation programm at the Technische Universität Berlin follows the concept of research-based learning and allows students to freely choose a project they have designed themselves. MINTgruen offers laboratory courses in fields such as robotics, mechatronics, fluid mechanics, environmental research, programming, mathematics, gender studies, physics and chemistry. The online project laboratory chemistry is a course with digital elements such as a content management system and collaborative writing platforms as well as student blogs in which the experiments are presented. The concept of the course requires students to produce small instructional videos that are published on blogs together with the protocols. In this way, a growing pool of new videos on various experiments was created and the projects were made accessible to the general public. This course was awarded by "Gesellschaft von Freunden der TU Berlin e.V." with a teaching price 2019.
