Scientific skills meaningful learning at senior high school level through neuroeducational strategies. An assessment proposal. — •Hector Jaimes-Paredes — ENP-UNAM, Mexico City, Mexico

Teaching science skills such as observation and hypothesis formulation at the senior high school level represents a research gap that is only just beginning to be explored. The use of neuroeducational strategies with an inclusive and game-based learning approach has so far shown good results. The efficacy of the vast majority of educational experiments are traditionally evaluated based exclusively on immediate pre and posttest diagnoses. However, it is well known that after a certain time, there is a knowledge-forgetting curve, when it is not practiced or rehearsed somehow. It is worth asking, then, how much new knowledge has really been assimilated by students? Are they able of applying this new knowledge to new contexts, after some time of having been learned? How does knowledge retention obtained with neuroeducational strategies compare with that achieved through traditional strategies? The results of the application of initial, final and retention diagnoses in control and experimental groups are analyzed.
