Search for B±K± a (a → γ γ) with promptly decaying ALPs - A Monte Carlo study — •Lucas Weidemann, Pablo Goldenzweig, and Torben Ferber — Institute of Experimental Particle Physics, Karlsruhe, Germany

Axion-Like-Particles (ALPs) are a well motivated extension to the Standard Model. They are light, pseudoscalar particles which are dominantly interacting with Standard Model gauge bosons. As a result ALPs can be produced in a flavor-changing neutral current transition by its coupling gaWW to W bosons. Subsequently, the ALP dominantly decays into two photons, which makes B±K± a (a → γ γ) a promising process for measuring gaWW.

We use Monte Carlo simulation for analyzing this process by reconstructing the B meson and examining the invariant di-photon mass distribution. The study is performed with ALPs in mass range 0.1-4.6 GeV/c2 and zero lifetime.

An outline of our analysis as well as our current status are going to be presented in this talk.
