Computer simulations of a monodisperse hard-sphere liquid confined between two parallel hard walls of accessible width L are performed. By reducing the distance between the walls the two- dimensional limit L → 0 is approached. An analysis of structural properties, such as the structure factor and the radial distribution function shows convergence to their two- dimensional counterparts, which is in agreement to the theoretical predictions. Furthermore an isobaric-like ensemble, with the slit width as an additional degree of freedom is introduced to study the behavior of the compressibility.
