Materials with magneto-electric coupling effect having coupled magnetic and electric properties have potential applications in energy efficient data storage and other multifunctional device technology. In recent literature organic molecules like molecular magnets/molecular ferroelectric materials are being explored for their possible novel magneto-electric characteristics. In this context, a work by French group [1] on Fe spin triangle based metal carboxylates [F3O(O2CPh)6(py)3]ClO4.py have attracted a lot of attraction. In this work, we would clearly demonstrate a correlation between dielectric and magnetic properties of the [F3O(O2CPh)6(py)3]ClO4.py complex. The highlight of the work is the observation of direct ME coupling coefficient in this molecular magnet complex. A comparison of the same with nonmagnetic Ga(III) complex will be discussed too.
