Light propagation in a plasma on an axially symmetric and stationary spacetime: Separability of the Hamilton-Jacobi equation and shadowBarbora Bezděková1, •Volker Perlick2, and Jiří Bičák31KIPAC, Stanford University, Stanford, CA 94305, USA — 2ZARM, University of Bremen, Germany — 3Institute of Physics, Charles University, Prague, Cech Republic

We study the effects of a non-magnetised, pressure-less plasma on light rays under the assumption of stationarity and axisymmetry. The necessary and sufficient conditions on the metric and on the plasma frequency are formulated, such that the rays can be analytically determined from a fully separated Hamilton-Jacobi equation. We demonstrate how these results allow to analytically calculate the photon region and the shadow, if they exist. As a special example, a rotating wormhole is considered. - For more details see J.
