Consideration of real-time effects for improved coordination of multi-messenger campaigns — •Patrick Reichherzer — Department of Physics, University of Oxford, Oxford OX1 3PU, UK — Theoretical Physics IV, Plasma Astroparticle Physics, Faculty for Physics and Astronomy, Ruhr University Bochum, 44780 Bochum, Germany — IRFU, CEA, University Paris-Saclay, 91191 Gif-sur-Yvette, France

After years of preparation, a fundamentally new research domain has recently revealed its first results: multi-messenger and real-time astrophysics. Over the last decade, the joint observation of astrophysical messengers has given us deep insights into the Universe's most energetic phenomena, such as gamma-ray bursts and flaring active galactic nuclei. This contribution quantifies the influence of propagation effects of cosmic messengers on observable multi-messenger signatures of these extreme events. The findings highlight the need for further improved, coordinated multi-messenger observation campaigns to unravel the nature of extreme transient astrophysical events. To this end, this contribution presents the holistic platform Astro-COLIBRI as one step in this direction.
