We investigate the excited state dynamics of conjugated thiophen based polymers using several kinetic models commonly discussed in the literature. These models describe scenarios in which a short lived excited state acts as a precursor for one or more long lived states and are formulated through coupled rate equations. Four representative models were fitted to the dynamics of DPP4T-1 and subsequently applied to pDPP4T, DPP DTT, pF8T2 and pTDPP to identify trends linked to structural variations within the polymer series. This analysis provides a coherent framework for comparing relaxation pathways and for assessing how precursor states influence the formation of long lived excited state populations.
