For the detection and spectral characterization of transition radiation in the operation of the linear accelerator at the TESLA test facility (TTF) we employ Hilbert-spectroscopy with Josephson junctions from high-temperature superconductors (HTS). The Josephson junctions with integrated wideband antennas from HTS are prepared on symmetric 24o LaAlO3 bicrystal substrates. We obtain for a 6 micrometer wide junction an ICRN-product of 170 microvolt at 77 K and 2.0 millivolt at 10 K. The set-up is optimized for low insertion loss over a wide frequency range from 76 GHz to 2 THz. For operation at TTF the Josephson junction is well shielded against the large magnetic background fields of the focussing magnets, 50 Hz-disturbances and the static magnetic fields of the wiggler-magnets. The HF-characterization is made by microwave Hilbert-spectroscopy at 20 GHz, 76 GHz and a far-infrared laser at 762 GHz and further lines in the THz-regime. We discuss the possibility as well as the limitations of the method to detect electromagnetic picosecond-pulses by Hilbert-transform spectroscopy. We acknowledge financial support by DESY, Hamburg.
