Self-organized formation of nano-structures in hetero-epitaxial growth — •Michael Biehl1,2 and Florian Much11Institut für Theoretische Physik, Julius-Maximilians-Universität, Am Hubland, D-97074 Würzburg — 2SFB 410, Fakultät für Physik und Astronomie, Julius-Maximilians-Universität, Am Hubland, D-97074 Würzburg

The simulation of strain effects in hetero-epitaxial systems requires the development of off-lattice models which allow for continuous positions of interacting particles.

By means of a simplifying model with Lennard-Jones interactions we have investigated the appearance of dislocations and the emergence of mounds in Stranski-Krastanov growth mode. We furthermore study the formation of stripe like structures in the sub-monolayer regime of strained three component systems.
