Interrupted Coarsening in Step Flow Growth — •Gerrit Danker1, Olivier Pierre-Louis2, Chaouqi Misbah2, and Klaus Kassner11Institut für Theoretische Physik, Otto-von-Guericke-Universität Magdeburg, 39016 Magdeburg — 2LSP, UJF-Grenoble 1, BP 87, 38402 Saint Martin d’Hères, France

Using the well-known Burton-Cabrera-Frank model of step flow growth, we study the effects of crystalline anisotropy on the meandering instability. We concentrate on the anisotropy of line stiffness and line diffusion. For some range of step orientations a new coarsening scenario is found: the lateral length scale of the structures first increases with time and then freezes at a larger length scale. In the final stage the amplitude of the meander increases like t1/2, as was already found within the same framework for the case without anisotropy [1].
