Granular transport on vibratory conveyors — •M. Rouijaa1, C. A. Krülle1, I. Rehberg1, R. Grochowski2, P. Walzel2, H. Elhor3, and S. J. Linz31Experimentalphysik V, Universität Bayreuth — 2Mechanische Verfahrenstechnik, Universität Dortmund — 3Theoretische Physik, Universität Münster

In the last decades the use of vibratory conveyors has dominated the transport of granular material to such an extent, that it is not possible, or only with uneconomic means, to replace them with another technology. They have demonstrated to be very efficient for horizontal, oblique, and in special cases also for vertical granular transport. The mechanism of the transport is simple and essentially based on vibrations, which cause a shift or acceleration of the granulate in a specified direction depending on the vibration mode, friction forces, coefficient of restitution, or other properties of the granulate. The vibration frequency plays also a crucial role.

The aim of this poster is the investigation of the transport behaviour of granular matter on vibratory conveyors with different frequency, amplitude of vibration, and granular density. The transport behaviour has also been studied with different vibration modes, namely elliptic, circular, and linear.
