Determination of Electron Densities of InGaAs-2DEGs from the de Haas-van Alphen Effect — •Hans Huebl, Sebastian T.B. Goennenwein, Martin S. Brandt, Martin Stutzmann, and Gerhard Böhm — Walter Schottky Institut, Technische Universität München, Am Coulombwall 3, 85748 Garching, Germany

The determination of electron densities is of general interest for the characterization of two-dimensional electron gases. In this talk we present a contactless method to determine the electron density by examination of de Haas-van Alphen oscillations in a standard EPR spectrometer which measures the AC magnetic susceptibility as function of the external magnetic field. The magnetization and the magnetic susceptibility are directly related to the Fermi energy. The electron density can be evaluated from the oscillatory behavior of the magnetic susceptibility. The presented results are compared to conventional Shubnikov-de Haas measurements. The magnetization measurements have the advantage that as-grown samples can be investigated without preparation of hall-bar structure and contacts.
