The liquid-liquid interfacial tension in the demixing Al-Bi system has been
measured in a wide temperature interval. The method is based on
experimental measurement of the force acting on the stamp detached to the
interface and theoretical calculation of the shape of meniscus and its
volume as a function of the contact line. The interfacial tension in the
Al-Bi system at 933 K equals 66 mN/m. Its temperature dependence is similar
to that in the Al-In and Al-Pb liquids and it is well described by the
models of Cahn-Hillard and Chatain-Eustathopoulos. The absolute value of
the liquid-liquid interfacial tension at the monotectic point has also been
calculated with the help of different semi-empirical and theoretical
models. Analysis of the model predictions in comparison with the
experimental data has been perform
