We report on the use of the 3He spin filter technique together with a quasi bound state neutron resonator for the measurement of spin-polarized diffuse neutron scattering from magnetic domain walls. The neutron polarization of the 3He spin-filter reached an outstanding value of 94% with a neutron transmission of about 40%. Therefore the spin-flip ratio becomes comparable to the one provided by the supermirrors. We used the device to measure the all four off-specular reflectivity maps I++, I+−, I−+ and I from a ferromagnetic domain state of a neutron resonator. They show a striking behavior. While the non-spin-flip maps (I++, and I) show weak diffuse scattering, the spin-flip maps (I−+ and I+−) exhibit strong off-specular signals. Moreover, the position of the off-specular signal follows closely a refraction law. The data suggests that the main cause of the off-specular scattering from No-dqmagnetic domainsNo-dq is actually refraction at their domain walls.
