We investigate the structure formation in thin films of polystyrene-block-polybutadiene copolymers. With modern atomic force microscopes we record series of images with high temporal and spatial resolution in a relatively short time. The manual analysis of these data, however, takes often months. To accelerate the quantitative analysis we use and compare different image processing methods. By computing local Minkowski measures we get important morphological information about the geometry of the observed structures and their evolution with time. Another way to characterize structures is to reduce them to their medial axis and to identify and count the branching points of the skeletonized structure. Their temporal evolution and characteristic time constants are analyzed with correlation functions.
