Magnetic transition metal (MTM) phthalocyanines are interesting due to their many different potential applications. In particular, FePc and CoPc are often utilized in optoelectronics and medical applications. Nowadays such phthalocyanines are considered as materials for development of low dimensional molecular magnets and quantum computers. To make further progress in development of this and other similar kinds of devices both the understanding and the tailoring of the physical, chemical and transport properties of the organic semiconductor components are required. The later is based on information about their electronic structure. Moreover the ability to incorporate electron acceptors and donors into molecular crystals enables the control of their electronic properties by introducing charge carriers. This special aptitude represents a promising route for technology as well as for the investigation of the fundamental properties of molecular crystals. In this work we have studied the electronic properties of potassium-doped organic semiconductor MTM phthalocyanines thin films CoPc and FePc using photoelectron spectroscopy.
