Using a Taylor relaxation theory, initilised by an external peeling mode, the widths and frequencies of Edge Localised Modes (ELM) can be modeled. From this the dependence of the ELM frequency on the edge safety factor is investigated and a development of multiple resonance at lower values of the normalised edge current density is observed. The addition of small derivations of the plasma current control leads to a possible explanation for the range of ELM frequencies experimentally observed. A comparison of experimental observations taken from the TEXTOR H-mode plasma is found to have good agreement with this modeling results. The basic assumptions and the range of validity of the model are discussed. The extensions to an application of this concept to scenarios with Resonant Magnetic Perturbations are sketched.
