Search for new physics in final states with one muon and missing transverse energy with CMS — •Sören Erdweg, Thomas Hebbeker, Kerstin Hoepfner, Philipp Millet, Mark Olschewski, and Klaas Padeken — III Physikalisches Institut A, RWTH Aachen

The search for new physics beyond the Standard Model in proton-proton collision events with one muon and missing transverse energy is presented. It is performed with the full 2012 dataset recorded with CMS at a center of mass energy of √s=8 TeV, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 20 fb−1. The results are interpreted in two different models.

The first model studied in this analysis is the production of new heavy charged vector bosons (W′) which decay into a muon and a neutrino. Comonly this model is referred to as reference model.

The second model is a helicity-non-conserving contact interaction which could arise if quarks and leptons are not fundamental particles.
