Measurement of branching fractions and CP asymmetries of B → ω K decays at Belle — •Veronika Chobanova for the Belle collaboration — Max-Planck-Institut für Physik, Föhringer Ring 6, 80805 München

The study of CP violation in B meson decays is important for constraining the CKM unitarity triangle in the Standard Model (SM). Second order bs q q loop ("penguin") decays such as B→ω K are sensitive to the CKM angle φ1 and provide a consistency check for the CP violation found in first order weak bc c s transitions (e.g. B0J/ψ/KS0). Considering corrections from other SM contributions, CP violation in bs q q modes are predicted to be larger than that found in bc c s, however the experimental tendency of the measurements so far seem to point to somewhat smaller values. We present the results of the measurement of the branching fractions and CP asymmetries of B→ω K decays with the final Belle data set, with first evidence for CP violation in the neutral mode.
