Search for Dark Matter in the mono-lepton channel with the CMS experiment — •Klaas Padeken, Sören Erdweg, Thomas Hebbeker, Kerstin Hoepfner, Philipp Millet, and Mark Olschewski — III. Physikalisches Institut A, RWTH Aachen

One of the open questions in particle physics is the particle nature of Dark Matter. The search is for an associated production of a Dark Matter pair and a W. This channel has a unique role uncovering the nature of Dark Matter particle properties

The mono-lepton (electron and muon) decay channel of the W boson has a clean, well understood Standard Model background. The result is set in relation with direct Dark Matter searches showing the limits of today's knowledge about particle Dark Matter knowledge. The search is performed on the CMS proton-proton collision data recorded in 2012.
