Neutrinos from extragalactic sources — •Isaac Saba, Julia Tjus, and Björn Eichmann for the IceCube collaboration — Ruhr Universität Bochum

The detection of 28 ultra high energetic neutrinos with the IceCube detector now gives a first piece of evidence for an astrophysical high energy neutrino signal.

In this talk we examine the hypothesis that the events are of extragalactic origin. Therefore we test the hypothesis that the diffuse flux arises from Active Galactic Nuclei (AGN), focussing mainly on FR-I and FR-II galaxies. We investigate both the spatial transport through the blob and what source properties are necessary in order to produce the flux from inelastic proton-proton interactions in AGN.
