Lepton number and lepton flavour violating τ → 3ℓ decays are sensitive probes for physics beyond the Standard Model. In this talk we discuss the lepton flavour violating τ → 3ℓ decay with a polarized τ in the initial state. Such a polarization can be achieved in an e+e− collider near the τ-threshold with polarized beams. We present observables that make use of the polarization of the τ and discuss their use to obtain information on possible new physics.
