MAGIC is a stereoscopic system of two 17 meter diameter Imaging Air Cherenckov Telescopes (IACTs) for gamma-ray astronomy, located at about 2.200 meters a.s.l. in the ORM, La Palma, Spain.

For the observation of Pulsars, high redshift AGNs and GRBs with IACTs, achieving an energy threshold well bellow 50 GeV and a high sensitivity in the region below 100 GeV is crucial. In the past few years, in order to optimize the performance at these low energies, a new stereoscopic analog trigger, called Sum-Trigger-II, has been developed and installed at the MAGIC site.

The installation and commissioning of the trigger successfully ended in 2015. The use of the Sum-Trigger-II in a stereoscopic system allows the combination of the low energy trigger threshold with excellent background rejection due to the stereo observations. The preliminary performance study using the Crab Nebula shows an energy threshold around 30 GeV, and an improved sensitivity in the low energy range. In this talk, the performance of Sum-Trigger-II and the future perspectives for astrophysics in the 30 to 100 GeV range are presented.
