Track resolutions for the IceCube Gen2 High Energy Array comparing the multi-PMT optical module to the standard IceCube optical module — •Thomas Kittler for the IceCube collaboration — Erlangen Centre for Astroparticle Physics, Erlangen, Germany

The IceCube neutrino observatory, located at the South Pole, is a neutrino telescope which successfully operates in its current form since 2011. An extension of the existing detector with an increase of the instrumented volume up to 10 km3, called "IceCube Gen2", is subject of current research. Apart from the increased volume, new optical modules, which are the basic detection units of the detector, are being investigated. One of these new modules is the so called multi PMT digital optical module (mDOM), which contains 24 3" PMTs per pressure sphere instead of a single 10" PMT as in the current IceCube array. In this talk the angular resolutions of tracks obtained with Gen2 detectors, one equipped with mDOMs and one equipped with standard IceCube DOMs, will be compared and discussed.
