Ca(1-x)Eu(x)AlSiN3 is currently one of the best known red-emitting materials for LED applications. We will present the experimental results of structural and optical properties of Ca(1-x)Eu(x)AlSiN3 samples. Ca(1-x)Eu(x)AlSiN3(x=0.02, 0.04, 0.06, 0.08, 0.1) samples were successfully synthesized by the high-temperature solid state reaction method. The structure and luminescence properties of samples were investigated by x-ray diffraction and spectroscopic measurements. The Ca0.96Eu0.04AlSiN3 sample shows the strongest red fluorescence emission peak at 670nm under the excitation wavelength of 450nm.

This work has been done with financial support of the Mongolian Foundation for Science and Technology.
