Due to generous funding and the political pressure towards "Open Science", the upcoming German initiative "Nationale Forschungsdaten Infrastruktur (NFDI)" will sooner or later influence the daily work of most researchers. Jointly, the panel will explore various aspects of the expected impact of NFDI on the SKM community, ranging from big-data aspects over confidentiality issues in industry projects to quality management and implementation in higher education at universities.
