Magnetocrystalline anisotropy plays an important role in the stabilization, orientation and manipulation of exotic spin textures like skyrmions in cubic chiral magnets [1-3]. Here, we report the determination of the fourth and sixth order anisotropy constants of MnSi as a function of temperature and field using the cantilever torque magnetometry option in a physical property measurement system. Torque curves were recorded by rotating the single-crystalline spherical sample in the field polarized state. This allows us to extract anisotropy constants by fitting the experimental data to the theoretical expressions of torques belonging to the symmetry class (P213). In addition, we discuss technical issues in measurement related to sample shape and geometry. The present technique is used to obtain the anisotropy constants of other cubic chiral magnets including Cu2OSeO3, Mn1−xFexSi and Fe1−xCoxSi series.
