The investigation of granular matter and their behaviour under external force fields and dynamic boundary conditions increases rapidly during the last decade. We present a numerical study of wet granular matter using approximately 1000 particles in a box with cyclic boundary conditions under the influence of a sinus shaped shear field. The interaction between the particles is of the friction-free hard core type. Hydrate bridges are formed after a contact of particles and they will be destroyed if the particle distances exceed a critical value, leading to an effective dissipation. A bridge generates a constant attraction force between the corresponding particles. This simple model allows the study of possibly critical properties of wet granular matter. Below a critical shear force, the wet granular matter behaves like a compact solid, while it is similar to a liquid above the critical threshold. The crossover between both regimes indicates a self organized critical behaviour at the threshold. We present various observables, e.g. longitudinal and transverse mobilities, cascade intensities or the segregation of disperse particle distributions, which prove the statement above. Especially at the critical shear force, wet granular matter shows a strange behaviour with alternating periods of cascade -dynamics and temporary compactification of the system.
