We study magnetic field response of the charged and neutral excitonic states weakly confined in single GaAs/AlGaAs quantum dots obtained by the Al droplet-etching method. [1] Using direct comparison of the results of single-particle theory and the configuration interaction method, we show that the widely used single-particle Zeeman Hamiltonian cannot be used to extract reliable values of the g-factors and diamagnetic coefficients, nor to single out those for individual electrons and holes. The results are supported by extensive µ-photoluminescence measurements in Voigt and Faraday configurations of the applied magnetic field.
